$22.00

Description

Size: 12-18” / Age: 2-3 / Growth Rate: About 1 foot per year. Cook’s balsam fir (Abies balsamea ‘Cooks’) is a compact, narrowly pyramidal evergreen conifer valued for its dense branching, dark green needles, and formal upright shape. It is generally smaller and more uniform than the species, making it suitable for residential landscapes, foundation plantings, screening, and locations where a traditional conifer form is desired without the mature size of a standard balsam fir. Cook’s balsam fir grows best in full sun to partial shade on cool, moist, well-drained soils with slightly acidic conditions. It performs poorly in hot, dry, compacted, or poorly drained sites and should be protected from drought stress, reflected heat, and strong winter winds.
